How many guests can receive a reading in one night?
1
Each five-card reading is around 15 minutes, so realistically I can see 3–4 guests per hour. If you've got 20 people who all want a turn, the host may choose three or single card readings. Otherwise, some guests will be living vicariously through the ones who went first. (They usually end up having their own reading at the next party.)
what is included in a reading?
2
A private tarot reading session one-on-one with me. I come fully equipped — cards, cloth, and everything needed to create the experience. Your contribution? A table and a space that feels less like a hallway and more like a sanctuary.
do guests need to prepare anything?
3
Nope. They just need to show up open-minded — or at least curious. Skeptics are welcome, encouraged even.
what is your cancellation policy?
4
Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance may forfeit your deposit. Life happens — and sometimes it happens suddenly and without warning. See the Tower card for details, then reach out as soon as possible — and I'll do my best to work something out. In the rare event that I need to cancel, you'll receive a full refund of your deposit plus a 50% credit toward a future booking.
What area of Chicagoland do you serve?
5
I'm based in the Chicago north shore area and travel throughout the city. Events outside the immediate area may include a travel fee — just mention your location when you reach out and I'll let you know upfront.
can you read at outdoor events or festivals?
6
Definitely - love them, especially those of the Pride variety! Reach out and we can talk through the details and customized pricing. Non-profits will receive a Justice discount.
Is tarot reading appropriate for all guests?
7
Tarot is a tool for reflection, not prediction, and I approach every reading with care and positivity. That said, it's best suited for adults or teens 14 and older. Teen parties require another adult on the premises at all times. All parties have a non-negotiable open-door policy for the room where the reading table is located.
do you offer virtual readings?
8
Not as a rule. My readings are built around a relaxed, in-person atmosphere, and my three rescue dogs make it a point to bark whenever I’m on a call. But I know many queer folks live where finding a supportive reader in a safe space isn’t possible. If that’s you, or someone you care about, reach out through the Contact form, and we’ll work out a virtual reading.
are you a psychic? Can you get in touch with my dead relatives?
9
No and no. I believe the only psychic you will ever need is you. . .
why can’t i find you on social media?
10
I've been called a social media ninja — and like any good ninja, I'm pretty hard to find. The truth is, I believe life happens in person, not on a screen. I live grounded in the hope of The Star – I trust that the real thing is better than the reel thing. I'd rather be reading your cards than posting about it.
are you a witch?
11
No, I weigh more than a duck and am not made of wood. However, I have nothing but respect and admiration for those who do identify as witches, particularly the vegan ones. Speaking of witch, check out the current tarot reading schedule at Loaves & Witches in Edgewater (won Best Chicago Coffee Shop 2025)
why do you read tarot cards?
12
A gift changed everything. A beloved friend put a book in my hands — a modern take on the tarot, without the 'isms that haunt its traditional roots — and something clicked. I'd spent my career in social work believing in people's capacity to find their own answers. I saw the same thing in the cards. Evolve with Darwin grew out of that intersection: your inner wisdom, reflected back to you.
i voted for trump. Can i book a reading?
13
I asked - but Justice said, “No – do better.”
